Evaluation Peer Learning Cohort (EvalPLC) Technical Assistance Overview
About
State teams collaborate and develop capstone projects (e.g., research design for a specific project, statement of work for a request for proposal for an evaluation, state evaluation action plan) to support their development and implementation of state and/or local research and evaluations.
Through the EvalPLC, participating state teams have the opportunity to:
- Understand and make progress toward meeting the state evaluation requirements as prescribed in the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act of 2014.
- Learn from experienced evaluators, state and national subject matter experts (SMEs), and each other as they work together to develop their capstone projects.
- Use the Evaluation Toolkit: Key Elements for State Workforce Agencies and two evaluation assessment tools to build evaluation capacity:
- Evaluation Readiness Assessment - designed to help assess the degree to which your state is ready to implement research evaluation activities and projects; and
- Evaluation Design Assessment - developed to support states in designing an evaluation plan.
Benefits of participating in the EvalPLC include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Virtual online space and meetings will allow state teams to focus on evidence-based evaluations.
- Support to identify the state's readiness for conducting evidence-based evaluations.
- Guidance on how to identify evaluation needs and questions and begin designing evaluation action plans.
- Subject matter experts and coaching assistance throughout the EvalPLC experience.
- Involvement with a small, committed group of participants to share experiences, consider challenges and opportunities, learn from other states, and shape future state investments in technical assistance.
- Access to relevant resources to support understanding and development of evaluation action plans.
