Evaluations: A Collection of Resources to Build Capacity and Evidence

About

This collection of resources provides state workforce agency (SWA) program administrators, local service providers, evaluation managers, and evaluators with resources and reference materials to support designing culturally responsive studies, defining evidence, and effectively using evidence.

The following provides a high-level overview of each tool or report in this mini-collection:

  • An Evaluation Roadmap for a More Effective Government outlines steps to build government capacity for strengthening the practice of evaluation throughout program lifecycles and for decision-makers to use evaluation to inform policymaking. The Evaluation Roadmap offers a strategy to guide State Workforce Agencies as they strive to meet the expectations for increasingly producing and using evidence to inform policymaking.
  • The Pathways Clearinghouse Guide introduces the Office of Planning, Research, and Evaluation’s Pathways to Work Evidence Clearinghouse to researchers conducting rigorous evaluations of employment and training interventions to the standards and procedures they use for assessing the quality of research studies.
